Mastering Clinical Digital Photography
Dr. Jin Kim has been taking clinical macro photography in dentistry since 1991. An avid photographer since high school, he became the “go to” guy amongst residents, and faculty at UCLA during his residency. He went on to teach photography to his fellow residents, and later as a format teaching program at UCLA periodontics program. Starting with Nikon analog macro photography during his general dentistry days, he has owned and used the Medical Nikor, Yashika Dental Eye, and Canon series of ETTL macro set-ups in his dental career. Taking more than 3-400 digital clinical photographs on a daily basis, he has conducted several hands-on training programs at various national and international meetings.
Participants will learn:
- selecting equipments and gadgets in digital macro photography (SLR & compact cameras, lenses, flash, retractors, mirrors), archiving (Mac vs Windows), and presenting (Powerpoint, Keynote)
- master techniques in taking clinical series for cosmetics as well as surgical, operative and for documentation purposes
- participants are encouraged to bring a laptop (mac or pc) , and any photography equipment they may own, as well as auxiliary team members so that benefits of photography can be implemented with the team immediately!
